Reasons your address may not be included in the list:
Your home may already meet current code standards for water quality protection. Homes built in recent years (generally with permits issued after 2009 from the City of Bellingham and after 2013 from Whatcom County) are already designed to manage stormwater runoff and protect water quality in Lake Whatcom. Use the “Contact” link at the bottom of this page to ask for help confirming your eligibility to participate in HIP.
Your home may be located outside of the Lake Whatcom watershed. It’s not always easy to tell which way the water flows. If you don’t live in the Lake Whatcom watershed but still want to learn about HIP or opportunities to make water quality improvements on your property, use the “contact” form at the bottom of this page.
